EBPM & DX Research Division

As one of the essential components of the Town & Gown initiative and smart city development, this division systematically promotes the digital transformation (DX) of the region and city. By collecting and integrating diverse data generated through DX, it seeks to advance evidence-based policymaking (EBPM). Utilizing data accumulated from smart city initiatives—including real-time information on urban and citizen activities gathered via Internet of Things (IoT) devices and applications—the division performs advanced analyses using causal inference and simulation technologies to support sustainable urban management and optimize governance. By integrating EBPM with DX, the division also identifies social challenges, evaluates effective solutions, and builds frameworks for social implementation, while fostering the development and execution of data-driven policy recommendations.
