About
Town & Gown Institute of Innovation for the Future at Hiroshima University was launched in April 2022 as a joint education and research facility on campus to support Town & Gown Office (TGO) project. To build a new regional development model that will lead social changes for a sustainable society, we conduct research on technological challenges contributing to the SDGs, EBPM/DX research to accelerate innovation and social integration, and promote regional development research for social integration in regional fields, with the aim of fostering entrepreneurs who can create innovations and integrate them into the society.

Hiroshima University, through the A‑ESG Center for Science and Technology and the Town & Gown Innovation Laboratory (TGIF), will host the Organic Photovoltaics (OPV) Co‑Creation Seminar, “Hiroshima‑Driven OPV Innovation — Social Implementation and Co‑Creation Network Building. Hiroshima University is conducting globally competitive research on materials for organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells and is also advancing initiatives toward their social implementation. On February 2, 2026, we held the 15th TGIF Seminar, titled ‘The Mobility Revolution Transforming Local Communities: Implementation and Collaboration Starting from Higashihiroshima.
