Panel Discussion in progress

It was a great pleasure to moderate and talk to all of distinguished panels at the Routes Asia in the fantastic venue and organised by Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) supported by Boeing.

We have seen the rapid recovery in the SE Asia postcovid19 and double digit aircraft entry only in 2023. Meanwhile, we are facing the larger and long term challenges to achieve our net carbon zero target. The region is at a much earlier stage in the use of Sustainable aviation fuel, and other novel technology such as electrified aircraft and hydrogen airports.

Tourism is the key industry that drives the aviation traffic and economy, but how to control the negative externalities is more challenging in this region such as airpollution and managing nature conservation and equity diversity inclusion. There is yet no clear solutions, but the regions like those countries should start the preparation, and actions now by forming the international collaborations. Sustainable aviation fuel might be the game changer to boost their economy as the additional driver.
