Hiroshima University, through the A‑ESG Center for Science and Technology and the Town & Gown Innovation Laboratory (TGIF), will host the Organic Photovoltaics (OPV) Co‑Creation Seminar, “Hiroshima‑Driven OPV Innovation — Social Implementation and Co‑Creation Network Building.
Hiroshima University is conducting globally competitive research on materials for organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells and is also advancing initiatives toward their social implementation. Beginning in fiscal year 2025, a new industry–academia collaboration project—supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry—was launched to implement these research outcomes in society as a new industry originating from Japan. OPV technology has excellent features that differ from conventional solar cells, opening up new markets and possibilities for practical applications.
In this seminar, we will introduce these research activities and ongoing efforts toward social implementation, while also aiming to build a co‑creation network—with companies, government agencies, and end users—for advancing the social deployment of OPV. This event is intended to provide an opportunity to explore the future of OPV together and to expand the community of partners who will work collaboratively toward its realization.
