2025.8.18 High School Workshop on Carbon Neutrality and the Future of Agriculture

On August 18, Town& Gown Institute of Innovation for the Future hosted a high school workshop on the theme of ‘Carbon Neutrality and the Future of Agriculture.

In this workshop, following presentations by three high school and technical college students on topics such as Japanese agriculture and food production—which will have a significant impact on our future—as well as carbon neutrality and the future of local communities, participants engaged in group discussions.

The workshop proved highly meaningful, with the students actively exchanging ideas and thoughtfully considering the future of agriculture.

About the Hiroshima Prefecture Agrivoltaics Model Development Promotion Council

We aim to promote the use of agrivoltaics in regional agriculture as part of our efforts to create the next generation of sustainable communities.

The Hiroshima Prefecture Committee for Promoting the Study of Agrivoltaics Model Development aims to examine proposals for demonstration projects by conducting investigations—through collaboration among relevant stakeholders—into key issues such as developing low‑cost and safe system designs, selecting crops suitable for the Hiroshima region, and determining appropriate shading rates, as well as fostering human resources.
